A little bird in my heart says - 'believe in miracles'
Are we humans mad to believe in miracles?
Miracles are rare.
They happen in times that we expect the least,
When everything seems lost and when everybody sighs in disbelief.
But, miracles do happen.
And when my dreams become reality,
I wanna be on the camp that believed in that miracle.
I might be disappointed a thousand times before it happens
And it is true that hope is painful.
But, hope is also very powerful
And when the miracle comes true,
I’ll have the power to walk through the storm a thousand times more.
“Hope kills” - We hear this a lot from sports fans. With fervent hearts, we rally behind our favourite teams, clinging to the hope that they might win the title or the cup this year. Even as defeat looms, our gaze remains fixed on the unfolding game, our hearts whispering prayers, silently wishing for a miracle to turnaround things.
Once in a while, although rare, miracles happen. When this happens, the whole stadium erupts with a roar, players banging their chests in pride and the fans dancing to the glory. Tears of joy stream down the faces of those who held onto belief, who dared to hope against the odds.
However, it is true that ‘Hope’ is painful, miracles are indeed very rare.
Are we humans mad to believe in miracles? Perhaps it is a form of madness—a beautiful, human madness—to keep faith in the unlikely and the improbable.
I personally draw a lot of inspiration from sports. In life, as in sports, holding onto our long-term goals and ambitions can often feel like a precarious tightrope walk. We face many situations where the path forward seems blocked, shrouded in shadows, where only a miracle can steer us back toward our dreams. The future looms distant and uncertain, a horizon veiled in mist.
At this point of life, more than ever, believe!. Believe more, when everyone else has already given up. Believe even more when all the odds tells you that it is nearly impossible.
Believe in miracles, just as I did in that match, watching my team score a goal in the last minute and lift the trophy against all the odds.
Indeed, humans are mad—beautifully mad. It is this madness that infuses our lives with depth and meaning, that shows we are truly alive.
For while hope does indeed carry its own form of pain, the triumphs—those miraculous moments of success—will show you that every struggle, every moment of faith, is profoundly worthwhile.
After a very tiring week at work, I pushed myself to the gym. It wasn't the best session, fatigue was evident in every movement, every lift. But as I wrapped up, I let my playlist shuffle and the first two songs lifted my mood.
On my walk back home, I looked at the sky that just opened up blue and indulged myself into “If we hold on together”- by Diana Ross and “You Will Never Walk Alone” - by Gerry and Peacemakers. (My music is older than me!)
It was as if those tunes were perfectly curated for that moment, reminding me that sometimes, all it takes to shift our perspective is a simple change in the soundtrack of our day. These songs inspired me to write this message and the little poem. Hope this little piece resonates with you and helps in one of your gloomy days.
Great read!
We all need hope, especially in these trying times.
